Company History
Greg
and Debbie Rollings Founded Rollings Funeral Service in 2001 in order
to provide exclusive service to the communities in which they own a
funeral home. Their vision is also to provide an opportunity to the
managers of the firms to one day own their own funeral home. The business
plan is to select firms that have the same spark for serving families
that Greg has had his entire career. After joining Rollings Funeral
Service the Funeral Home will continue to be operated on a local level.
Each manager works with Greg and Debbie to develop annual budgets, advertising
and public relations campaigns, determine pricing and make employee
related decisions.
According to Greg, “Having a manager that one day will be owner ensures that he or she is going to provide the service that the families deserve.”
Greg
and Debbie Rollings are the owners. He and his wife operate the business
out of their home in Peachtree City, Georgia.
Greg has been a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer since 1984. While operating a family firm, Greg was named "Young Funeral Director of The Year" by the state of California in 1992. In 1994 his firm was purchased by The Loewen Group. Greg spent 10 years with Loewen rising as Senior Vice President for the Southern Division, where he was responsible for the operations of more than 400 funeral home locations.
From 1999 to 2001, Greg was President of Meridian Mortuary Group, a venture capital backed funeral home operating company that acquired and operated 40 funeral home locations. While Greg was part owner of Meridian he was frustrated by having an 80% partner that was motivated entirely by finances.
In 2001, in a return to his roots movement,
Greg decided to leave the corporate life and open Rollings Funeral Service.
